How to make masala chai (tea) in a microwave
Start with a strong tea bag, like Marks & Spencer, and add to a cup of water in a microwaveable mug.
Microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes to brew the tea.
Add 3 tbsp of evaporated milk and 2 tsp of sugar to each mug. Adjust milk and sweetness to your taste.
Microwave again on HIGH for 2 minutes. Watch carefully for spillage and extend/reduce time if needed.
Remove mug from oven. Tea should be bubbling and extra hot with a medium caramel color.
Using two tablespoons, squeeze excess liquid from the tea bag.
Add a quarter tsp of tea masala and stir.
